This n8n workflow provides a robust automation solution for processing documents, specifically designed for handling receipts. The automation is triggered by an incoming HTTP POST request to a secure webhook endpoint, which expects binary data representing the document (e.g., an image file of a receipt). Once received, the workflow seamlessly passes this document to the Mindee service. Mindee, an advanced AI-powered document processing platform, then intelligently analyzes the receipt, performing Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to accurately extract critical information. This includes details such as the merchant's name, transaction date, total amount, and individual line items. Following the extraction, the structured data returned by Mindee is then utilized to create a new record or update an existing one within a designated Airtable base and table. This end-to-end automation streamlines financial record-keeping, expense management, and data entry, transforming raw receipt images into organized, actionable data in a database without manual intervention.
